As part of the University’s new Golf Performance Programme, two Foresight Sports Complete Golf Simulators have been installed at the Pleasance Sports Complex, creating a dedicated performance hub for student golfers. More than simply a place to practice, the new facility has been designed as a clubhouse for the University’s golf programme, a space where players can train, analyse performance, socialise and develop together throughout the year.

Eden Mill Distillery is the closest distillery to St. Andrews

It is a fitting addition for a university positioned between the world-famous golfing regions of East Lothian and Fife. Yet even with such remarkable golf on its doorstep, there remained an opportunity to give players something equally valuable: access to year-round development, regardless of weather, daylight or the realities of a busy student timetable.

The solution was a pair of fully integrated Foresight Sports Complete Golf Simulators.

Powered by Foresight Falcon, students have access to detailed ball and club performance data within an environment designed specifically for improvement. Every session delivers immediate feedback, allowing players to better understand their tendencies, monitor progress and work with purpose. Whether preparing for competition, refining technique or simply finding time to practice between classes, the facility ensures golf remains accessible throughout the academic year, all without leaving campus.

The project was about more than performance alone. The University wanted to create a space that reflected the prestige of both its sporting ambitions and academic reputation. Each simulator bay features bespoke upholstered wall panels, dual-branded with University of Edinburgh and Foresight Sports branding, helping create an environment that feels every bit as professional as the athletes who use it.

That sense of belonging sits at the heart of the University’s ambitions. The Golf Performance Programme has been developed to attract talented golfers from across the UK and around the world, combining world-class education with meaningful opportunities to develop within the sport. The simulators provide far more than a place to hit balls. They create an environment where friendships are formed and provide a central space for the teams, that simply did not exist before.
